Happy Home Program

Every year we take friends of SKI with us to Mumbai to experience life at St. Catherine’s and get to know the kids.  If you were to join us for the Happy Feet Mission Trip, you would get to visit the sidewalk “homes” and slum dwellings of our families.  Each month the parents whose lives are changing through this program gather to get encouragement from each other and Hitansu, the head social worker, who monthly visits them in the slums and streets where they live. Many are healed from addictions through counseling and education.  Mangala, was a broken-hearted widow when we met her.  Her sponsored girls are thriving in school and she has learned English just so that she can communicate with us!  As you can see, she is now a beaming, proud mother and so grateful for us and Sunshine Kids. She is just one perfect example of a life transformed through the Happy Home Program.   The life of Anu, another mother, has been so changed by this program, she has created her own non-profit to help other women.
